You’ll complete a Certificate III in Horticulture – Parks & Gardens through a mix of on-the-job experience and formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Working full-time in Camden Council’s outdoor teams, you’ll help maintain beautiful public spaces like parks, gardens, and sporting fields across the region. What will you be doing? During your apprenticeship, you’ll get to: Use different mowing equipment to maintain lawns and open spaces Edge and trim grassed areas to keep them neat Help prune trees and shrubs (including chainsaw work once trained) Clean and maintain parks and gardens Operate vehicles and machinery as part of your role Remove weeds using tools and safe chemical treatments Use devices to record your work and communicate with your team Who we’re looking for: We’re looking for someone who is: Reliable and keen to commit to the full apprenticeship Willing to learn and open to feedback A team player with a can-do attitude Genuinely enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions Able to follow instructions and work safely Comfortable using basic technology or keen to learn Holds (or is willing to get) a White Card for construction safety Holds a P1 or higher driver’s licence (or working toward it) This role also requires COVID-19 vaccination (or willingness to get vaccinated) to meet Camden Council’s WHS requirements.
