About The Role As a Welfare Officer, you’ll work closely with detainees to assess needs, provide support, and promote access to services that foster wellbeing and engagement. This is a full-time position located at the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. Key responsibilities include: Deliver evidence-based assessments and welfare interventions Develop and regularly review individual care plans Support detainees in building life skills and social capacity Ensure access to culturally specific services and programs Maintain accurate case notes and timely reporting Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the facility Respond to emergency situations and attend debriefs when required Support drug and alcohol testing procedures where relevant Key Requirements: You're compassionate, reliable, and bring a solutions-focused approach to your work. You thrive in team environments and are committed to upholding dignity, respect, and safety.
