Our client is a specialist in fire sprinkler and hydrant pipe fabrication, proudly South Australian-owned and operating for 30 years. With a reputation for quality and a strong "pipeline" of projects, they are experiencing rapid growth and scaling their operations to meet increasing demand across the fire protection and construction sectors. As part of this growth, they are seeking a full-time Workshop Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at their purpose-built facility. This hands-on leadership role reports to the Operations Manager and Project Manager, and the successful applicant will thrive in a dynamic, high-output environment where safety, quality and delivery are paramount. In this role, you'll take ownership of: Coordinating the daily workflow in the workshop, prioritising jobs to meet project deadlines Managing the procurement and stock control of pipe, fittings, and consumables Supervising a team of fabricators, welders, storemen and apprentices Delivering staff training and mentoring, and driving a culture of quality and safety Reviewing job specifications, estimating time and materials, and supporting quote preparation Overseeing workshop equipment maintenance, compliance and servicing schedules Ensuring all fabricated products meet the Australian Standards and internal quality benchmarks Leading toolbox meetings and delivering HSEQ protocols in line with legislation This is a wide-ranging role with the ideal applicant having proven capability in people and culture, driving process and productivity, ready to shape the operations of a growing workshop. To be successful in this role, you'll have prior experience in fabrication or mechanical piping, with strong organisational and communication skills. A white card and forklift licence are preferred, as is confidence using Microsoft Office, scheduling, and costing technology systems.
