Our client, Qalandari Restaurant , is a well-established Indian/Pakistani restaurant known for its authentic flavours and high-quality dining experience. They are now seeking a skilled Chef with at least 1 year of experience to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities Plan and organize the preparation and cooking of authentic Indian/Pakistani dishes. Ensure menus reflect traditional recipes and seasonal availability of ingredients. Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, portion control, and presentation. Manage food quality, hygiene, and safety standards in line with Australian regulations. Control stock levels, order supplies, and manage storage to reduce wastage. Adapt and develop new menu items to meet customer preferences while maintaining authenticity. Monitor and ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and used safely. Coordinate with restaurant management to deliver consistent, high-quality service. Requirements Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a Chef (Indian/Pakistani cuisine preferred). Strong knowledge of Indian and Pakistani cooking techniques, spices, and flavour profiles. Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment. Team leadership skills and ability to supervise junior staff. Understanding of workplace health and safety, food hygiene, and compliance requirements. Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate IV or higher) is desirable but not mandatory if supported by experience.
