The role: We are looking for a permanent full time Clinical Nurse to join our MSI Australia, Gold Coast & Virtual Health team. The Clinical Nurse will be integral in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager and Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the daily running of the clinic to ensure a high level of patient care is provided across the clinic and governance and compliance regulations are met. Position Title: Clinical Nurse Department: MSI Australia, Gold Coast & Telehealth Clinic Location: MSI Gold Coast Clinic - This role is required to be in person at our Gold Coast Clinic, located in Varsity Lakes. Reports to: Nurse Unit Manager Position: 1 x Permanent, Full-Time position. Hours per week: 76 Hours per fortnight working across Monday - Friday. Your purpose to provide safe, high-quality client-centred care in our clinics. Working within a team of highly experienced sexual health nurses, you will work together to meet to goals and unique needs of our clients. You will provide education and clinical care as well as assisting in managing plans of care on ongoing support to our clients after discharge. Your Responsibilities: Provide senior nurse leadership “on the floor” to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations and ensure seamless patient flow throughout the patient journey for all lists. This will include the management of staff breaks, communicating with patients and support people as necessary, Provide expert clinical advice and support to clinic staff, acting as a point of escalation for nursing staff, whilst managing clinical risk and working to ensure we provide best practice solutions in line with our policies and procedures, escalating to NUM and ANUM where appropriate, Coordinate the training of new nurses to the clinic and support the nursing team’s continuous education and development areas with support from the NUM and ANUM, Follow up with patients requiring post-appointment clinical management such as follow-up appointments and general administration, Assist with the implementation of policies, procedures, and WHS strategies as required, Assist to complete monthly quality audits, ensuring the clinic is working to standards, Monitor stock and resources and complete orders as required, working to the clinic budget, Ensure the clinic is clean and safe for clients, and look for opportunities to continuously improve clinic operations, Assist the NUM, ANUM and Risk and Safety team with clinical reporting of incidents and near misses including reviewing and investigating incident reports and complaints whilst continuously contribute to organisational quality and safety initiatives, Work towards having a strong understanding of the ANUM’s role and will be able to step into their position on an ad-hoc basis to cover any Annual Leave, sickness or other ad hoc reasons, Live our brand and passion for de-stigmatising abortion and promoting sexual and reproductive health rights. Key Skills & experience A Pro-choice advocate and champion of women and pregnant people’s rights. Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration, with a minimum 3 years post registration experience in an acute setting, Knowledge of National Accreditation Standards and ACORN standards, Experience in day surgery, recovery, and women's health, Interest and experience in leadership role within clinical setting and leadership skills that promote a positive team culture, Experience achieving high clinical standards and working towards audits and accreditations, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an understanding of how to provide empathetic care, Perioperative post-grad (desirable), Family Planning Certificate or Midwifery qualification (desirable), Phlebotomy competency (desirable), Ultrasound scanning skills (desirable).
