About the role: This is a new opportunity to join a large, well-resourced and collegiate Commercial Dispute Resolution team. You will work closely with experienced lawyers, providing advice and representation to a range of government departments and agencies. Day to day, you will: run a consistent file load of litigated matters, including drafting pleadings, affidavits and other court documents and correspondence; advise on liability, evidence, quantum, settlement, costs and strategic direction including working with Counsel mostly in the Supreme and District Courts; work across a mix of government litigation that will include: commercial disputes, real property disputes, insolvency, property damage claims, negligence claims, injunctive relief, class actions, defamation, malicious prosecution and misfeasance in public office claims; and advise and work on complex and sensitive matters for consideration at Ministerial, Cabinet and inter-governmental levels. Skills/Experience: To be considered for this role you will: have 10 years’ PAE litigation experience; have a good working knowledge of the UCPR and experience in handling Supreme and District Court level matters; work collaboratively in a team ; be accustomed to a consistent workload and able to pivot from matter to matter (given the breadth of this practice); work with more junior lawyers; and be dedicated to client service delivery and achieving excellent outcomes for your clients.
