Why this role matters Moneycare is The Salvation Army’s (Salvos) national financial counselling and financial capability program which seeks to alleviate hardship and build long term resilience . About the role As a Financial Capability Worker , this is your opportunity to work in accordance with The Salvation Army Mission and Policy and the Moneycare Practice Framework as well as the requirements of the relevant funding bodies. This role does not include providing financial counselling, financial advice/options or dealing with complex financial or legal matters. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Karratha, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 5. How you will make an impact Ongoing assessment is made of community member issues, needs and circumstances from initial contact to exit Deliver financial literacy education workshops with a strong focus on supporting people to build longer term capability by developing skills to plan for their financial future Service delivery is provided in accordance with The Salvation Army standards and procedures and The Salvation Army Moneycare Practice Framework, aligned with relevant legal and regulatory requirements Moneycare Outcome Measurement processes are followed Individual casework plans are developed in collaboration with community members, recognising the ways in which other life issues may interact with personal financial issues What you will bring Cert IV in Community Services or relevant field or willingness to obtain is desirable Financial Literacy Education Skill Set or willingness to obtain is desirable Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language Knowledge of local Aboriginal Communities and Culture Ability to meet deadlines and work under conflicting time pressures Demonstrated ability to work with different cultures and backgrounds Demonstrated money management and negotiation skills Demonstrated ability to work with people suffering difficulties and crisis A national police record check is required Be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in Australia.
