We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a creative and innovative Graphic Designer and to join our Multimedia and Graphic Design team. Melbourne Airport is Australia’s largest 24-hour airport, and welcomes more than 33 million passengers each year, while supporting tens of thousands of jobs. To keep Victoria connected, Melbourne Airport is undertaking a significant expansion, including construction of a new elevated road network, known as Naarm Way. The opening of this project in late 2026 represents the biggest change to the airport’s ground transport system in its history, and will require significant changes to traveler behaviours. This position will support the transition to the new ground transport operating model by producing innovative and engaging creative designs that generate awareness of the project and promote behaviour change. The position requires mixing imaginative flair and commercial nouse with a strict adherence to Melbourne Airport brand guidelines to design and develop signage, fact sheets and other creative collateral and materials. Key responsibilities: The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Responding to briefs to produce high-quality design solutions for both online and offline channels, in line with Brand Guidelines and within agreed timelines Design offline materials including print (publications, fact sheets, power point templates), press and direct mail Designing online advertising and promotional materials including display ads, social media posts (static and animated), website and eDM assets Provide creative solutions based on the scope of the brief. Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software. Prepare and present ideas for review and approval. Amend final designs according to client comments & gain final approval. Work with our brand on the production of marketing and advertising projects to ensure successful business outcomes. Liaise with other graphic designers and internal stakeholders to deliver best fit design solutions Closely proof and quality check all items and publications prior to production. Adhere to the Melbourne Airport brand guidelines when creating new designs Works with internal customer to clearly understand & define briefs before work is commenced, by gathering information and data to clarify design requirements. Develops the project plan in line with the brief, including clear documentation of agreed outputs. Negotiates as appropriate to ensure realistic timing of deliverables is agreed. Manages and executes delivery of projects on time and within set budget, understanding material costs and time requirements for delivery Identifies and leverages any marketing opportunities that are presented. Ensures all collateral developed is in accordance with the Melbourne Airport brand guidelines. The successful candidate will have: A formal tertiary qualification in a graphic design discipline or equivalent business experience. Tested and proven graphic design experience within a dynamic corporate environment. High level of proficiency with industry leading software & technologies i.e. Adobe suite of products such as Photoshop, PowerPoint, Illustrator and Indesign. Ability to create artwork across all platforms, print and digital. Ability to deliver high quality work within set timeframes and to budget. A naturally creative and conceptual approach with high attention to detail and excellent presentation skills across multiple platforms. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow directions and work autonomously in a time efficient and accurate manner. Established excellent time management skills. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with an ability to engage at all levels in a positive, can-do manner.
