An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Director role in the Health and Community Services Directorate. This role is in the Health Emergency Management Unit (HEMU) within the Preparedness, Planning and Surveillance Branch in the Population Health Division. This is a temporary position available from 01 December 2025 for a period of up to 12 months with the possibility of permanency. The successful applicant will join a small and experienced multidisciplinary team to plan, coordinate and deliver emergency management functions for the Directorate and the broader health sector, including both the health consequences of natural disasters and public health emergencies. We are seeking someone who is adaptive, flexible and resilient, with strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills. Experience in a similar role and/or knowledge of ACT emergency management arrangements will be favourably considered.
