Get started with tutoring primary school students introducing students to the world of robotics and coding with Sydney Robotics Academy - world champions in VEX Robotics competitions. Work Hours Flexible up to 6x two hour lessons each week Work Location 12 Thomas Street, Chatswood, NSW, Australia Pay Rate Casual: $31.00/hr to $40.00/hr depending on experience Work Outline Teach a class of five to fifteen primary school Year 1 - 6 students theory and practical topics on robotics and coding Supervise the students as they construct a project using materials provided Keep track of student attendance, performance, and create reports Prepare for lessons by developing lesson material Other adminisrative tasks as required Skills Required Keen to learn and teach students (For coding lessons) Knowledge of the blockly, scratch, or other block-based programming languages (For robotics lessons) Knowledge of the VEX Robotics program and good hands on building skills Studies in education, robotics, engineering, or coding preferred Able to work at Chatswood, NSW, Australia Capable of obtaining a Working with Childrens Check Fluent in the use of teaching aids such as Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook Our robotics lessons are taught using VEX robotics components. We will introduce a free short course prepared by VEX to you prior to starting to familiarise you with the VEX robotics program. The robotics program also uses very simple Python3, C++ or block-based programming such as scratch and blockly to run.
