We are seeking committed professionals to support Council's Carrington Occasional Care Centre in delivering high-quality early childhood education and care. Carrington Occasional Care provides flexible early childhood education and care for children aged from six weeks to six years. The service operates from 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. The Centre is located in Campsie and easily accessible by public transport. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children to learn and grow. Building positive relationships with children and families is essential, along with maintaining a strong child safeguarding culture - upholding zero tolerance for abuse or harm. Duties will include but not be limited to: Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law, all regulatory, legislative and quality standards/requirements at all times. Assist in the implementation of an innovative and reflective early childhood education program that complies with the principles, practices and outcomes of the National Early Years Learning Framework. Contribute to a collaborative team through shared learning, a positive attitude, and sound communication skills. Provide and support an inclusive environment including for children with additional needs Develop and maintain meaningful, respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, community members, management and other relevant professionals. *For a full list of duties, click here to review the position description. You will have Diploma in Early Childhood Education. Valid Working with Children Check. Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk of Significant Harm. Current Senior First Aid Certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis. Current CPR certificate. Completed Child Protection Training as well as demonstrated understanding of current child safe practices. Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011). Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF). Demonstrated experience in providing quality learning experiences and working in mixed age environments for children aged birth to six years. Knowledge and understanding of child development and learning. Knowledge and experience in implementing the National Early Years learning Framework. Knowledge and understanding in working with neurodiverse children and providing an inclusive learning environment. Knowledge and experience fostering children’s self-regulation and positive social-emotional skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate positively and build trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues. Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and development. Effective communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team. The salary range for this opportunity starts at $71,820 (Grade D, Step 1) 12% super.
