Job Description YOUR ROLE The Risk Advisor is a key role within the Governance and Legal Directorate, supporting the delivery of the MACS Risk Management Framework and embedding strong risk management practices across schools and central office. This role is designed to partner with schools and directorates to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, while ensuring consistent and effective processes across the organisation. This position would suit a risk professional with at least three years’ experience in risk and assurance management, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to deliver practical solutions in a complex environment. The Risk Team is focussed on promoting a proactive risk culture and supporting schools to meet their obligations while reducing administrative burden. WHAT YOU WILL DO Support the implementation of the MACS Risk Management Framework, policies, and practices. Provide advice and guidance to schools and leaders on risk-related matters, reviews, and updates. Facilitate workshops and training to strengthen risk awareness and capability. Plan, execute, and report on risk activities to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and governance processes. Apply consistent risk assessment methodologies and support the operation of internal controls. Contribute to the implementation and use of MACS’ Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platform. ABOUT YOU You are a proven risk professional with a minimum of three years’ experience in risk management, assurance, or internal audit. You have strong knowledge of ISO31000:2018 and risk management frameworks. You can demonstrate experience in conducting risk assessments, facilitating workshops, and supporting business improvement initiatives. You have excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. You are detail-oriented, data-savvy, and confident using Microsoft Office, with experience in Power BI or GRC software highly desirable.
