Employer: Sydney Smart Joinery Position: Cabinetmaker Location: Penrith, NSW Tenure: Full-time, permanent Salary: $75,000–$95,000 super (commensurate with experience) About the role Sydney Smart Joinery is seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to manufacture and install bespoke cabinetry and joinery to a high standard. You’ll work from detailed drawings, produce components in the workshop, and complete quality installations on site across residential and commercial projects. Key responsibilities • Read and interpret plans, drawings, and cutting lists • Measure, cut, edge, and assemble cabinet carcasses, doors, panels, and benchtops • Operate workshop machinery (panel saw, edge bander, CNC/router, drills, sanders) and hand tools safely • Fit hardware (hinges, runners, handles), achieve accurate alignments and clean finishes • Finish surfaces (laminate, veneer, solid timber prep, sanding) to specification • Conduct on-site installations to deadline, with a high-end finish and minimal rework • Maintain equipment, manage materials, and uphold WHS and quality standards • Collaborate with designers, site supervisors, and fellow trades to meet project timelines Skills • Strong eye for detail, square/level setups, and fine finishing • Confident with measurements, tolerances, and problem solving on the tools and on site • Proficient with cabinetmaking hardware and modern assembly methods • Competent with workshop machinery and safe work practices • Basic computer literacy; experience with Cabinet Vision or similar is an advantage • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or within a small team Qualifications & experience • Certificate III in Cabinet Making (or equivalent), or substantial relevant experience in lieu • Demonstrated experience in cabinetmaking/joinery manufacturing and installation • Ability to read technical drawings and produce work to specification • Current driver’s licence; White Card preferred What we offer • Competitive salary aligned to experience, stable full-time hours • Diverse bespoke and larger-scale projects with a quality-driven team • Well-equipped workshop and supportive work environment Work rights & notes Only candidates with unrestricted right to works in Australia will be considered for the role.
