As a Comminution Technician, you are responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance on Weir HPGR, screens and cone crusher equipment across customer sites and in our Perth workshop. Operating as both a workshop fitter and a hands-on site service technician, you will also have the opportunity to manage customers across the APAC region to establish and implement sustainable growth. You will be contributing to a valuable team environment, working with the Senior HPGR/Comminution Supervisor and service management on various business objectives including, but not limited to, onsite safety, onsite maintenance, process improvement, lean principles and special projects. Key Responsibilities: Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture Work with the HPGR team onsite and at our WA facilities Manage customers across the APAC region to establish and implement a sustainable growth of HPGR Manage all onsite maintenance, repair, fault finding and test tasks as per scopes of work provided Develop strong relationships with key customers to ensure expectations are being met and remedial action taken to address issues Exhibit a collaborative approach to ensure that customer needs are prioritized and satisfied to meet set service levels Ensure that preventative maintenance is conducted to eliminate or reduce plant downtime Liaise with the appropriate Area Managers to ensure that the installation and commissioning activities are being undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner for all works Show flexibility under urgent or breakdown conditions in order to service customer requirements Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: A minimum of 3–4 years relevant technical/trade experience (Minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering) Experience working on heavy specialised equipment such as high-pressure grinding rolls, hydraulic and rotating equipment is highly preferred Hydraulic knowledge is desirable Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Be available for a combination of workshop and field work Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
