MCV The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community. People Services provide core human resources functions, ensuring Courts Group has productive work systems and modern workplaces. People Services design and implement programs that support work performance and the health, safety, and wellbeing of judicial officers and members and employees. Key functions include Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Workplace Relations, People Advisory Services and Talent Acquisition, HR Partnering, Leadership, Capability Development and Strategy, Judicial, Member and Executive Services, Payroll, Systems & Reporting. The Executive Director, People Services leads the function and is part of the CSV executive. About the Role The People Partner works closely with the Strategic People Partner, Senior People Partner and People Partners, to build strong and trusted relationships across MCV to enable the delivery of people strategies and solutions. The role will provide expert advice on people solutions and support managers to motivate our people to perform, develop and grow. The People Partner acts as an expert advisor and coach to support leaders to effectively manage people matters across the employee life cycle. Drawing upon a depth of generalist HR knowledge and experience, the People Partner manages and negotiates complex HR cases including performance, conduct and wellbeing matters. Working in collaboration with specialist areas across People Services, the People Partner supports leaders to identify and mitigate workforce risks and de-escalate complex people matters. Key accountabilities include: Providing operational support, advice and coaching to people managers, on a range of employee relations and people and culture matters in accordance with relevant legislation and CSV and VPS policies. Providing case management and generalist expertise to manage complex people matters including performance, conduct, and wellbeing matters. Building strong effective working relationships with key stakeholders and collaborating across the People Services team to deliver HR services and initiatives to enable business leaders to achieve operational outcomes. Contributing expertise to positively influence workplace culture by meeting all policy and compliance requirements; administering risk controls; adhering to policies and procedures and escalate issues or breaches as they are identified. Reviewing, updating or providing advice regarding job design and position descriptions for the purposes of recruitment, reclassification and resize or organisational change proposals. Administering the redeployment process following organisational change and act as a case manager to support employees impacted by change as they seek redeployment. Delivering advice to assist and support a range of other people management functions, supporting people managers in relation to capability development, performance management, development and planning. This position will be based at 181 William Street, Melbourne Vic 3000, with travel to other Courts Group sites required. About You Tertiary qualification in human resources (or underway) or relevant experience is essential Demonstrated HR generalist knowledge and experience partnering with leaders and managers to deliver HR initiatives and outcomes. Demonstrated experience effectively managing employee relations matters and complex HR cases.
