About the Role As the Head of Department - Humanities and Social Science at Varsity College, you will play a key role within the Secondary teaching team, leading the delivery of a dynamic and engaging curriculum. With a deep understanding of content and pedagogy in the Humanities and Social Sciences, you will bring your passion to the College, inspiring students and fostering an environment that enhances learning outcomes. Responsibilities As the Head of Department - Humanities and Social Science, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Coordinate arrangements for your faculty staff during alternative program Term 4 -weeks 9 & 10 Use data informed instructional practice to support every student succeeding Build teachers' capability in using data to provide effective differentiated instruction Implement research based pedagogical practices (informed by the Whole School Approach to Pedagogy) to increase student engagement Lead the collaborative development of a coherent, sequenced, P-10 Australian Curriculum and Assessment Plan Lead the collaborative development of Teaching and Learning Plans (TLAPs) for all Year 11 and Year 12 Subjects. Lead and support Qlearn planning and digital pedagogical approaches/capabilities Support the College's Collegial Engagement Policy and Professional learning program and align staff capability to professional learning opportunities Be committed to creating a school wide culture of wellbeing, engagement and personal achievement that values diversity, responding to the needs and interests of students and staff.
