Job Description SGS are seeking a Chemist to join the team on Curtis Island for a 6 – 12-month contract. Ideally, the candidate will be based in Gladstone, however, we are open to considering candidates based in Brisbane. Key responsibilities will include however not limited to: Operate, calibrate, and conduct routine maintenance of analytical instruments with a high degree of precision. Skills with the following instruments are considered essential: Gas Chromatography Ion Chromatography Auto Titrators UV/Vis Photometry Sir Galahad Maintain laboratory records in a systematic and logical manner. Specifically, maintain calibration records, analytical results, test reports, and maintenance records in LIMS system. Generate custom trend data and reports using a combination of LIMS and MS Office programs. Safely operate plant sampling stations for liquefied hydrocarbons, low- and high-pressure hydrocarbon gases, cryogenic liquids and hazardous aqueous liquids. Interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams and obtain process status to safely configure appropriate sample collection equipment.
