With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Medical Obstetrics Consultant to join the Medical Obstetrics team.  About Northern Health: Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.  About the Role: This role requires the appointee to: Provide outpatient and inpatient care to obstetric medicine patients as an obstetric medicine physician Work collaboratively with the obstetrics and medicine divisions to continuously improve and develop the obstetric medicine service and participate in quality improvement activities, research, education and training.  This role is responsible for (depending on appointment): Participating in Medical Obstetric Clinics â which may be a mixture of telehealth and face-to-face visits. Working with the medicine and obstetrics divisions to meet challenges of patient flow through the Medical Obstetrics program, Medical Obstetrics At Home service and wider hospital. Working with medical and obstetrics divisions to meet key performance indicators. Participating in regular unit and program meetings. Participating in quality improvement activities including audits, mortality and morbidity review, hospital committees and redesign. Supporting teaching of medical students, midwives, junior medical staff (including medical and obstetric staff) and physician trainees. Supporting and assisting the Medical Obstetrics Unit Head in the provision of high-quality medical services at Northern health, consistent with Northern Health values  To be successful in this role you will have to demonstrate: Clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care A commitment to excellence in patient care To be current with new developments in obstetric medicine. To continuously review existing practices and to promote change where required. To ensure the maintenance of adequate clinical records that document significant patient management decisions.
