Location : Darwin Status: Full-time Ongoing contract The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking an experienced and creative Media and Communications Officer (Video) to join our Media and Communications Team. This role is at the heart of our storytelling and advocacy work, producing engaging video content that shares the voices of Council Members, promotes Land Rights, and connects with Aboriginal communities across the Top End. About the Role: Reporting to senior media staff, you’ll plan, shoot, edit, and distribute high-quality video and audio content across digital, and broadcast platforms. Your work will support the NLC’s communication priorities by documenting Council meetings, cultural events, and community gatherings, and ensuring Traditional Owner voices are heard locally, nationally, and internationally. You will play a key role in producing content for the NLC’s flagship publication, Land Rights News, and in developing creative campaigns that highlight the issues, achievements, and aspirations of Aboriginal people in the Top End. This includes generating dynamic social media and website content, assisting in the management of the video archives, and supporting proactive advocacy initiatives. What you will Bring: You are a skilled video professional with demonstrated expertise across the full production cycle—from concept through to filming, editing, and publishing. You’re confident using the Adobe Creative Suite, producing content to deadline, and adapting assets for social media, website and traditional media. This is a dynamic and hands-on role for a talented communicator who thrives in cross-cultural environments and is passionate about using video as a tool for change. You are also a natural collaborator who works respectfully with Aboriginal communities, stakeholders and colleagues, and you are motivated to use your creative and technical skills to strengthen the voice and visibility of Aboriginal people in the NLC region. In addition, you will have: Practical video production skills (video, audio, photography) and post-production expertise. At least five (5) years’ experience in communications, media, or video production roles. Strong digital literacy and social media skills. Experience delivering projects and creative content to deadlines. A current NT C Class licence and ability to travel to remote communities (manual 4WD). We offer: Salary Package of $95,563 Inclusive of 15% superannuation Salary sacrificing up to $15,900 meal entertainment and holiday accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.
