Your Role & Responsibilities As the Charge Nurse, you’ll be the clinical anchor and operational leader in theatre. You will: Act as the go-to clinical expert for perioperative services. Oversee resourcing, staffing, and day-to-day theatre workflow. Ensure patient safety and surgical efficiency across multiple specialties. Provide hands-on clinical support during surgical procedures. Mentor and guide nurses, fostering teamwork and professional growth. Liaise effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and theatre teams. Manage rostering, allocation, and equipment procurement. Maintain compliance with infection control and health & safety protocols. About You We’re seeking a confident perioperative leader who thrives in high-performing teams. NZ Registered Nurse with current APC 4 years’ perioperative nursing experience across a range of specialties (orthopaedics highly valued). Leadership experience in a surgical/theatre environment. Skilled at coordinating staff and resources in a complex, fast-moving setting. Calm under pressure, decisive, and solutions-focused.
