Lead the change, from the frontline Based at our Condamine Power Station, the Operator Maintainer plays a critical role in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Condamine Power Station and associated equipment. This operationally focused position is responsible for day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, and fault response across the site, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Working within a 24-hour shift roster , the Operator Maintainer supports continuous plant performance by executing planned and reactive maintenance, coordinating with contractors and external stakeholders, and contributing to the development of work packages and outage planning. The role requires a strong technical foundation, sound decision-making, and a proactive approach to safety and process improvement. With respect, integrity and honesty, you will: Participate in a formal call-out roster to provide 24-hour coverage for operation and maintenance requirements. Monitor Gas Turbine HMI ensuring compliance with setpoint target and operational mode compliance. Monitor plant condition, identifying and reporting on defective plant and equipment and rectifying problems where required. Carry out, or where applicable supervising contractors carrying out, maintenance of plant and equipment. Maintain up to date knowledge and skills of all relevant Health and Safety practices and procedures and relevant legislative requirements (e.g. Resource Consents, Electricity regulations). Liaise with external organisations and services as required to meet day to day operational requirements including Powerlink, AEMO, APA and Shell Energy Traders from time to time. Plan, Schedule, actioning, and documenting Authorizations for maintenance work as required. Maintain accurate, up to date and timely records of all key operational events, plant history and maintenance records. Compile asset team daily/weekly work-packages and planning all plant outages. Coordinate the work requirements for routine and opportunity maintenance, plant modification and installation. Assist in identifying resourcing requirements for planned work packages. Compile information, data to generate reports for operational and compliance requirements. Interact with Government Departments and third-party companies to ensure station compliance. What you’ll bring Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role: Experience in maintaining or operating gas turbines and auxiliary equipment (desirable). Proven ability to perform under pressure and deliver commercially sound outcomes. Ability to understand and manage complex operational processes. Willingness to encourage and recognise innovative ideas and improvements. Ability to contribute positively to team dynamics and foster collaborative relationships. Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills. Effective time management and personal organisation. Skilled in negotiating through challenging or sensitive situations.
