GEM Youth Engagement Officer Location: Bairnsdale, VIC Contract Type: Full Time Permanent About the opportunity: The Gippsland East Mentoring Program (GEM) aims at addressing offending behavior and recidivism by young people who are connected with or have demonstrated risk of being involved with the criminal justice system. As the Youth Engagement Officer, this role focuses on delivering services by facilitating mentoring and youth engagement activities for disengaged and disadvantaged youth in the East Gippsland Region. About you: You are experienced in working with individuals or small groups of students who are or may be at risk, and in implementing strategies to improve educational outcomes. You are skilled in interpersonal communication, with the ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds. You are proficient in negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution, with relevant experience supporting students who require additional assistance. You are capable of working independently and as a member of a team without direct supervision. You are effective in planning and organising, with the ability to manage competing priorities within set timelines. About us: Workways Australia - we get people connected.
