You’ll report to the Shift Supervisor / Site Manager and provide support to the wider crew. What You’ll Do Manage the loading, tying and firing of blasts by following blast patterns Handle explosives and prepare for blasts, ensuring all safety and legislative requirements are upheld Pre and post inspection of blasts and maintenance of records Working collaboratively with the crew to achieve daily targets What You’ll Need Must-haves: Right to work in Australia Current Shotfirer licence, S1, 2, 3 and G2 Open drivers licence with no restrictions Standard 11 or willingness to obtain QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (or ability to obtain) Able to pass pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol and background checks. Previous experience as a shotfirer Good to have: Experience in quarrying or hard rock shotfiring in an open cut mining environment. TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Relevant RII’s for Shotfiring e.g. RIIBLA301E – Conduct Surface Shotfiring Operations Heavy Rigid (or greater) drivers’ licence About Us We’re a bespoke blasting provider in the Australian mining industry with the goal of making mining easier for our clients.
