ROLE PURPOSE As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for running studies with light supervision, adapting existing protocols, and contributing to method improvements. This role requires strong technical skills in laboratory practices, the ability to troubleshoot routine issues, and the capability to analyze and summarize experimental data. You will work collaboratively with the team, present concise updates, and contribute to the continuous development of scientific methods and capabilities within the lab. RESPONSIBILITIES Laboratory Operations & Technical Skills Ability to work with regular laboratory equipment. Set up and perform routine operation of laboratory and pilot scale reactors. Conduct high-volume manual sample preparation and analytical determination of various samples. Troubleshoot and maintain equipment as needed. Identify the analytics required for the experiments, sample preparation and processing. Experimental Design & Protocols Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results. Adhere to established protocols and quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision. Ability to write standard operating procedures (SOPs). Design of experiment and conceptualisation. Data Handling & Analysis Data analysis and interpretation. Gap analysis of the data. Maintain detailed records of experiments and analysis procedures. Utilise MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to organize and manage data. Reporting & Communication Report writing and results presentation. Present findings to team members and stakeholders. Collaborate with team members to review and validate analytical data. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in chemical engineering, chemistry or biochemistry. Minimum 2 years of laboratory work experience. Understanding of the biological systems and enzymatic reactions. Experience operating laboratory equipment and design of experiment and data analysis. Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively. Experience in working with proteins and in the biology, lab is a plus.
