Our client URGENTLY requires a Software/Systems Engineer - Robotics for an 8 months Contract in Sydney. The Software/Systems Engineer will provide Specialist Engineering Services in the areas of Computer Systems Science, and Maritime Autonomy & Robotics. You will be required to achieve a number of deliverables that will feed into and provide benefits across a number of areas. Skills and Experience required includes: A working knowledge of naval platform systems and contemporary software engineering tools, to assist with the further development of integrated simulator for maritime autonomy capability. Ability to adapt, integrate, and extend autonomy systems for autonomous underwater vehicles and related sensing, navigation and communication systems. Experience in the areas of software engineering, modelling and simulation, C++ and Python programming languages. Experience in the areas of Robotic Operating System (ROS) middleware, Combat Systems simulation, Deployable Defence Geospatial Systems and Defence Geospatial Dissemination System.
