About the opportunity The Townsville Cancer Centre (TCC) Medical Director is responsible for leading and managing a team of medical staff within the TCC towards the achievement of the Townsville Hospital and Health Services vision of increasing the health and wellbeing of people in the Townsville community through the delivery of safe, effective and sustainable care. The TCC Medical Director will be a practicing clinician and will retain responsibility for managing a clinical case load, the size of which will be negotiated with the Service Group Director and Chief Medical Officer upon commencement. They will hold specific responsibilities for medical workforce planning, management and development, education, training and research and clinical experience and leadership development. Travel will be required in this position both within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and throughout Queensland which may include travel by small aircraft This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
