Job Description About the Role Acciona Agua is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer (Instrumentation & Control) to join our growing team of water infrastructure specialists. This role will be instrumental in supporting the design, integration, and delivery of control systems across major water and wastewater treatment projects, including both greenfield and brownfield developments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in SCADA systems, electrical protection and control, and instrumentation design, with a strong background in the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of water infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and integration of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants. Develop and review SCADA architectures, I/O schedules, and functional descriptions. Provide technical input across all project phases: design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. Review and assess the competency of electrical/control engineers in line with client and project requirements. Liaise with clients, partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment with project specifications and delivery standards. Support the preparation of tender documentation, cost estimates, and technical evaluations. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers within the team. Ensure compliance with Australian standards, safety regulations, and quality frameworks. Required Skills and Competencies Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline Minimum 10 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a strong focus on water and wastewater infrastructure. Proven experience in SCADA, PLC, and instrumentation systems across major infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of HV/LV drives, protection systems, and commissioning processes. Familiarity with Sydney Water or similar utility standards is highly desirable. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and/or RPEQ registration preferred.
