ABOUT THE ROLE : The Perth Mint is seeking a reliable and hands-on Trades Assistant to help maintain the high standards of our facilities and operations. In this role, you’ll assist with the servicing, maintenance, and general housekeeping of site buildings, grounds, plant, and equipment. You’ll work alongside skilled tradespeople within the Facilities team to ensure the site remains safe, clean, functional, and presentable. From supporting minor repairs and preventative maintenance to help keep our heritage-listed premises in pristine condition, your contribution will be essential to the smooth running of day-to-day operations. You’ll be expected to follow Gold Corporation procedures and comply with all relevant Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental (OHS&E) legislation. Your role as a Trade Assistant will involve: Help trades personnel (Electrical & Mechanical) with maintenance tasks as required. Complete daily routine rounds such as emptying cardboard cages, removing waste plastic containers, assisting with the rubbish disposal and tidy designated areas. General repairs to toilet cisterns and pipe work, training to be provided. Pressure clean equipment, and painting. Moving of office equipment and furniture, and tidying/cleaning process areas prior to and on job completion. Collection of parts and materials from suppliers. General duties may require operating some hand tools, training provided. Driving forklift, emptying skips, moving pallets, and operating a EWP. Ensure own safety and health at work and avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person through any act or omission at work.
