Parkhurst, Full Time, Engineering Vacancy Listing Dates 29/09/2025 to 27/10/2025 Please Quote Reference Number 13742 Immediate start Remuneration: $90,000 - $100,000 Join the team at JA Engineering in Parkhurst JAE is a mechanical engineering business that specialises in the manufacturing and refurbishment of coal mining machines and equipment, in accordance with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) specifications and government legislations. JAE is searching for a Gearbox Fitter to join their team in the Gearbox Workshop. The Gearbox Fitter performs a technical and specialised position at JAE. It involves the assembling of fabricated metal parts and subassemblies to build gearboxes, wheel units, and other specialised coal mining equipment products. These tasks include : Maintain a high level of standard and quality in line with the company ISO standards and procedures; Understanding and commitment to workplace health & safety principals, policies and procedures; Knowledge of product drawings to determine suitable bills of material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings; Knowledge and capability to assemble bearings and all JAE units; Know how to strip and inspect equipment; Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment; To conduct Vibration Analysis; Diagnosing product failure (trouble shooting analysis) and performing operational maintenance of machines; Rebuild and repair mechanical parts; Accurate use of precision measuring instruments; Correctly set controls on machining tools; and Installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines. To be considered you will need a relevant trade certificate with two years minimum relevant Fitter employment experience or at least three years of relevant Fitter employment experience to substitute for the formal qualification. Gearbox experience is a desirable attribute for candidates but not a requirement. This is a full time role with an immediate start available.
