The City of Gold Coast operates eight four aquatic centres, offering something for everyone: learn-to-swim programs, swimming school swimming programs and carnivals, squad swimming, diving programs, pools, fitness centres, and active and healthy aqua classes. About the roles As a Fitness Instructor with the City, you’ll be a key part of our Fitness Team, creating a safe, welcoming, and motivating environment for all members. You’ll guide members through fitness assessments, design personalised programs, lead group classes, and assist with operational tasks such as opening/closing and gym upkeep. Your experience and professionalism will ensure that all sessions run smoothly and that our fitness spaces are safe, clean, and inviting . In this role, you will: Foster a positive and supportive culture among members and staff. Conduct fitness assessments and health screenings, designing personalised programs to meet individual needs. Lead dynamic and engaging Group Fitness classes, including Spin, Boxing, Yoga, Pilates, Aqua/DWR, and Dance Fit, inspiring confidence and motivation. Provide exceptional customer service by actively engaging with members to enhance their experience. Ensure safe and effective use of equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety across all fitness spaces. Assist with class setup and pack down, ensuring sessions run smoothly and the environment remains hazard-free. About you We’re seeking enthusiastic and qualified Group Fitness Instructors with experience delivering a range of classes, such as Spin, Boxing, Yoga, Pilates, Aqua/DWR, and Dance Fit. You’ll also be confident in providing one-on-one fitness instruction and conducting assessments to support member goals. Approachable and engaging, you thrive on working with people of all ages and fitness levels, creating safe, inclusive, and motivating environments. Highly organised and proactive, you’re committed to ongoing professional development and ensure your training and certifications are always up to date.
