We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Services, Strategy and Continuous Improvement Team. As our Strategy and Planning Partner, you’ll play a key role in turning Council’s vision into action by leading the development and review of strategic plans, corporate planning frameworks, and policy initiatives that align with community priorities. By driving integrated planning and evidence-based decision making, you’ll help shape a stronger future for our organisation and community. Key responsibilities of the position include: Implement and support Council’s Strategic Management Framework, including integrated planning, prioritisation, and compliance with legislation. Lead the development, review, and delivery of strategic, corporate, and business plans, building capability across the organisation. Manage the 10-year initiative pipeline and annual prioritisation process to guide resource allocation. Facilitate service reviews and drive innovation, improvement, and alignment with Council’s Community Vision. Build strong stakeholder relationships and develop advocacy tools to translate strategy into action. Support evidence-based decision making through data visualisation, performance reporting, and communication of outcomes. Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for leadership, Council, and the community. Monitor legislative changes, regional trends, and best practices to inform policy and planning. The successful applicant will have: Tertiary studies in public policy, business management and/or related fields (or equivalent experience). Experience implementing strategy and business planning in complex organisations. Skilled in providing specialist advice, research, and report writing to support strategy development. Proven ability to lead organisation-wide projects, business improvements, and cross-functional initiatives. Strong knowledge of strategy development, planning frameworks, and project/portfolio management, including budget oversight and systems thinking. Understanding of local government operations, legislation, risk and performance management, and quality management systems. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver business value. More information can be found on the Position Description located below. This is a Level 6 position which has a current salary range of $112,394 per annum (plus Super).
