About the opportunity We are seeking 2 enthusiastic and committed Vacation Student Engineers to join our Greenspace Services team on a term contract, part-time basis for up to 3 months. The preferred candidates will provide valuable hands-on experience in local government, whilst supporting the delivery of projects and services that enhance Blacktown’s parks, open spaces, and community facilities. You will be currently enrolled as a third or fourth year student, with the intention of completing relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Responsibilities of the role include: Assisting in the preparation, monitoring, and implementation of operational management strategies and plans Providing information to Council staff and the community Contributing to the preparation and delivery of the Works Improvement Program Supporting planners in the assessment of development applications Liaising effectively with internal teams and external organisations Working with City Assets Managers to deliver key Directorate objectives. Qualifications and experience Essential: Currently enrolled as a third or fourth year student, with the intention of completing relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations Computer Literate. Desirable: Current class C driver’s licence.
