What you'll do Collection of diagnostic samples, including blood samples. Adhere to Pathology Queensland patient identification, labelling, collecting & processing policies at all times. Ability to work in a conscientious manner with minimum supervision, but after careful instruction and ability to follow written instructions. Ability to work co-operatively as a member of a team and provide assistance and support to supervisory staff as required. General laboratory duties, including the receipt of specimens and the registration of requests into the laboratory information system (basic keyboard/data entry skills) and maintenance of the work area including cleaning and restocking of consumables. Seek the advice or approval of supervisory staff in relation to changes in work practices. About you We are searching for someone who has: Experience in the collection of diagnostic samples from a range of patients including children and babies. Demonstrated experience of the correct procedures for the performance of laboratory tests including processing and setting up techniques within the Pathology department. Proven ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal supervision after careful instruction. High level interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work productively in a team environment.
