ConsultANZ is looking for a Piling Design & Estimating Engineer to join a market-leading specialist in piling and deep foundations. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a high-performing team, contribute to landmark projects, and play a pivotal role in both design development and cost planning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Work closely with the operations team to ensure designs align with project requirements. Develop piling and deep foundation designs tailored to varying soil conditions and technical specifications. Review and interpret geotechnical reports to determine optimal piling solutions. Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, equipment, and labour. Provide innovative and cost-effective design alternatives while upholding structural integrity and safety standards. Conduct site investigations and apply specialist software such as Wallap, Piglet, and Plaxis. Create, maintain, and refine Excel-based templates for cost estimation and planning. Design and estimate piling methodologies, including retaining walls and other foundation systems. Report directly to the Pre-Contracts Manager, supporting tenders and project planning. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Tertiary qualification in Engineering, with 2–5 years’ experience in a similar role. Background with top-tier contractors or major design consultancies is highly desirable. Proficiency in MS Office, Wallap, Piglet, and ideally Plaxis 2D/3D (or equivalent design software). Strong technical and commercial acumen with proven cost estimation skills. Excellent communication skills, with a practical and solutions-focused approach. Ability to build strong relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders.
