About the opportunity The purpose of the Clinical Nurse is to provide clinical expertise, support, and education to nursing staff within the unit to ensure best practice and quality patient care to patients of all ages and cultural groups, recognising the importance of individuals and their families. About the opportunity The Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department (ED) provides treatment to approximately 80 000 patients per calendar year. The type of treatment varies according to the presenting complaint of the patient. The priority of treatment is indicated according to the triage category allocated to the patient on their arrival at ED. Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus. Highly Desirable: Extensive experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate. Adult Life Support certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment procedure. Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
