About the role We are seeking a qualified and professional Casual - Truck Drivers for the upcoming grain harvest season. The chosen candidate will be primarily responsible for driving, following set routes, and ensuring timely delivery of grain during the harvest. This position requires excellent driving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong understanding of transportation laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities : 1. Safely and efficiently transport grain from fields to storage and port. 2. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance checks to ensure that vehicles are in proper working order. 3. Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness. 4. Adhere to all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record. 5. Verify deliveries against shipment instructions and make records of departure times as well as arrival times at each pickup or delivery stop. 6. Coordinate with the farm management team to set pick-up and delivery schedules. 7. Load and unload trucks using various methods; ensure that all cargo is secure. 8. Handle minor repairs and report serious mechanical issues, damages, or accidents to management. 9. Manage logs of working hours, vehicle service, or repair status by following state and federal regulations. Qualifications: 1. Valid MC Driver’s License. 2. Clean driving record with no traffic violations. 3. Proven experience as a truck driver. 4. Proficient in driving large, heavy vehicles and ability to load and unload cargo. 5. Ability to undertake long-haul trips. 6. Familiarity with traffic laws and trucking routes. 7. Possess physical strength and stamina to complete prolonged driving duties, as well as loading and unloading tasks. 8. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. 9. Familiarity with basic truck maintenance would be advantageous. 10. Willingness to work extended hours, such as evenings and weekends, especially during harvest season.
