About the role This newly created position will report to the General Counsel. As DroneShield continues to expand rapidly, this role is critical in ensuring that our legal frameworks keep pace with our growth. You will play a key part in safeguarding the company’s interests, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance across a complex, global operating environment. Working closely with the business, you will help enable innovation while managing legal risk. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Draft and review a variety of contracts, including technology, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement agreements. Assist in legal matters related to intellectual property, export controls, and employment law, collaborating with the General Counsel and outside legal counsel as needed. Engage with regulators such as the ACMA, ASIC, ASX, and DEC. Support in the development and maintenance of corporate policies. Conduct legal due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Law degree from an accredited Australian or European university Admission to practice in Australia 2 to 4 years of law firm experience, preferably with exposure to technology, engineering, or manufacturing sectors. Interest in intellectual property (IP), export controls, and employment law, with a global perspective. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
