The Role Our client, located near Tintinara, South Australia, is seeking a Senior Farmhand to assist the Farm Manager in developing this family-owned mixed farming enterprise. This integral role will require strong leadership skills to liaise with staff and contractors daily, and in the manager's absence. This 4,800-hectare mixed farming property specialises in Angus cattle production. The operation includes a 1,200-head self-replacing breeder herd and an Angus Performance Registered Elite herd. The elite herd is part of a meticulously planned AI program to produce premium-quality bulls for internal use. Additionally, the farm cultivates cereal crops and dryland lucerne seed. The property is committed to high animal welfare standards and low-stress handling practices, and progeny is directly marketed to feedlots. The Senior Farm Hand will support the Farm Manager in efficiently executing production plans and daily farm operations, including livestock care, pasture management, and the maintenance and operation of farm machinery. This role is ideal for an individual committed to professional operational standards who is eager to contribute positively to the farm's systems and processes. The ideal candidate should have prior agricultural experience, particularly with cattle and hay cropping, and be capable of working independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with modern agricultural software systems like AgriWebb, Safe Ag Systems, and John Deere Ops Centre is essential, as are basic mechanical skills.
