Job Description APS6 Finance Officer – Modelling $61.18 – $69.46 per hour super Baseline Security Clearance Essential We are seeking an experienced APS6 Finance Officer – Modelling to join a high-performing taskforce within a Federal Government department. This role will support the development of urgent costings for a range of New Policy Proposals (NPPs), providing critical financial modelling and analysis to inform government decision-making. The Role As an APS6 Finance Officer – Modelling, you will: Prepare detailed costings to support New Policy Proposals. Work closely with policy areas to ensure costings are accurate, robust, and defensible. Apply your knowledge of the Commonwealth Budget Process to support budget submissions and briefing material. Collaborate with stakeholders across the department and other agencies to deliver high-quality outcomes. Provide financial modelling and advice on balance sheet proposals where required. You will report to an EL1 Finance Officer and work closely with a small team in a fast-paced environment, where accuracy and timeliness are essential. About You We are looking for candidates with: Demonstrated experience preparing costings and financial models to support New Policy Proposals. Strong knowledge of the Commonwealth Budget Process. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience working with balance sheet proposals (desirable). Requirements Baseline Security Clearance (essential). Ability to commence at short notice will be highly regarded.
