Description About the team Our State Management team forms part of the Marketing, Sales, and Engagement department and are the face and voice of the AICD in the market. They work across the business internally and externally – representing the AICD at key events, managing the State Divisional Council and Advisory Groups, as well as conducting business development / relationship building activities on behalf of the AICD. About the role An opportunity exists for a State Manager to join our Canberra office. As the State Manager you will be responsible for representing the AICD across the ACT to build a connected community of members. Leveraging off your extensive professional network, you will apply your expert knowledge of governance, and governance principals to drive impact, engagement, and member retention across the territory. You will also represent the AICD at key events across the ACT and will maximise opportunities to engage with members and directors to gather feedback and insights on the AICD and our products and programs. Leveraging your federal government, education, peak body, and local business relationships and network, you will lead key programs of work across the ACT including business development activities and regional member programs. In addition, you will be the principal representative for your respective Council and Committees and will act as a key contact for members across metropolitan and regional ACT. Whilst this role does not have any direct reports, you will be responsible for providing enterprise leadership for the Canberra office, driving cultural alignment, and fostering a collaborative ‘One Team’ culture. Your remit will be broad and will include: Be the principal management representative for Territory Councils and Committees, and the face of the AICD for local political and chamber relationships. Provide senior leadership and representation for members within the ACT. Continually identify and drive initiatives to improve the member experience. Cultivate positive interactions and build trusted long-term relationships with members, developing a strong local network that drives membership growth in the ACT. Provide relevant state or territory market insights to the Client and Partner Sales team to drive strategic goals. Maintain an understanding of all of AICD’s Education products and other service offerings Ensure a knowledge of the AICD’s public policy stance Drive impact and engagement through support of the AICD national events program. Influence the staff within their State or Territory to work collaboratively as one team Drive cultural alignment, through oversight of the employee experience, office safety, security and culture within their State or Territory Skills And Experiences About you You will be a proven leader with experience in sales, business development and engaging with senior leaders and you will champion the AICD values of: Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Collaboration . In addition, you will also have the following: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a similar related field or relevant industry experience. Senior sales and commercial experience covering business development, pitches and relationship building Proven results driven leader who can navigate change in a matrixed company environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence effectively with internal and external stakeholders including C-suite executives and Board directors. Demonstrated ability to manage complex situations effectively and positively. Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Gravitas, self-leadership and ability to command a room and be self-motivated, driving for results Exceptional networking, stakeholder management and relationship management skills.
