About the Role We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable and growing organisation in the distribution and logistics sector , based in Western Sydney . This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Credit Officer to join a dynamic finance team within a well-established business that values professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end credit control function, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, assessing credit risk, and maintaining positive relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Maintain and develop credit control procedures to support effective debt recovery. Regularly engage with customers via phone, email, and written communication to ensure timely payment of outstanding accounts. Process, allocate, and reconcile payments from clients. Negotiate payment plans and alternative solutions with customers where necessary. Assess credit applications using credit scoring, reference checks, and financial analysis. Monitor credit risk and recommend actions based on industry trends and internal analysis. Release or hold orders based on credit assessments. Prepare and present reports on debt status, risk exposure, and collection outcomes. Respond to customer queries and interpret credit policy as required. Support the Accounts Receivable Manager in maintaining healthy cash flow and minimising aged debt. Ensure compliance with company policies, credit terms, and OH&S standards. About You Essential: Proven experience in a Credit Officer / Accounts Receivable or similar role. Solid understanding of credit control and debt recovery procedures. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance. Demonstrated success in reducing aged debt and managing customer accounts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience using Oracle-based systems (or similar ERP platforms). Good communication skills - both verbal and written MUST have full Australian working rights Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
