The Role Macquarie University Health is seeking an experienced and skilled Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Anaesthetics team within our Perioperative Services at Macquarie University Hospital. You will oversee the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality anaesthetic care to patients, driving operational excellence and clinical best practice. Your role will include working collaboratively with medical personnel, anaesthetists, surgeons, theatre management, and multidisciplinary teams to optimise theatre efficiency, equipment management, and workforce planning. You will manage a skilled and dedicated team, focusing on workforce development, quality improvement, and strategic enhancements within the Anaesthetics service. A key aspect of this position is your leadership in supporting clinical perfusion and blood management services, including management responsibility for the Blood Management Standard. You will lead the development and evaluation of models of care, promoting evidence-based practice and positive change that enhance patient outcomes and staff engagement. You will also provide clinical mentorship and leadership, collaborating with Clinical Nurse Educators to develop training programs that strengthen team capabilities and promote a cohesive, patient-centred care environment.
