Description About the Role Strait Link Logistics is a leading provider of transport and warehousing solutions in Tasmania. We are committed to safety, efficiency, and teamwork. We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator Leading Hand who can combine hands-on forklift operation with leadership responsibilities. You will supervise a small team of operators, ensure inventory accuracy, maintain safe work practices, and contribute to the day-to-day efficiency of our Launceston warehouse. Primary Duties: Unload and load vehicles and sort them appropriately and safely. Scanning freight, freight sortation and re-palletising of freight. Palletising freight for travel where required. Ensuring the correct movement and distribution of freight in a timely manner. Carry out all duties within set time frames and follow instructions closely. Carry out all duties within set time frames and follow instructions. Identify damaged and report them in accordance with site processes. Ensure compliance and safety are always adhered to. Restrain loads safely as well as with the correct use of straps where required. Lead and supervise a team of forklift operators. Monitor inventory movement and maintain stock accuracy. Assist with training new operators and onboarding staff. Coordinate with warehouse management to achieve operational targets. Report equipment issues and recommend maintenance or improvements. Skills And Experiences About You: Hold a current & valid Forklift License (mandatory). Strong leadership and team management skills and experience Able to follow instructions and work autonomously where required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and commitment to safety. Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
