Overview School of Education Fixed Term, full-time Head of School appointment (3 years), plus underlying Permanent/Continuing, full-time Professor appointment. Position Classification: Professor Level E. Salary: $217,815 Head of School Allowance 17% Superannuation. This role is within the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (ASSH). The School of Education aims to develop skilled graduates and is renowned for its Initial Teacher Education programs across Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary contexts, delivered across multiple campuses in NSW. The successful candidate will lead the School of Education at the Wollongong campus with regular in-person engagement. Responsibilities Provide strategic academic leadership across research, learning and teaching, governance, and community engagement. Cultivate a dynamic, collaborative environment that fosters innovation and continuous improvement. Lead the development and delivery of a robust course portfolio that prioritises outstanding student experience, classroom readiness, and lifelong learning. Champion excellence in research by supporting academics at all career stages, building industry partnerships, and driving community impact. Promote the School’s achievements locally, nationally, and internationally. Play a central role in academic administration, staff development, and strategic planning within the School and Faculty. Report directly to the Executive Dean and collaborate with Associate Deans, other Heads of School, and University units and divisions.
