Role: Full time Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum plus superannuation Positions : 2 Responsibilities: Oversee preparation and cooking of food items to ensure it is prepared according to the menu guideline Plan menu for events and function catering and calculate costing of new dishes Direct the activities of kitchen staff, to ensure fast and efficient service. Prepare and cook high quality customer meals as per dietary requirements. Monitor the quality of all meals and menu items going out to customers. Liaise with front of house staff/management to always ensure a high standard of service. Plan daily specials, liaison with management to ensure dishes are viable and consistent with Restaurant’s offering. Source and order high quality produce and ingredients as required, Stay up to date with dining trends, new recipe ideas, ingredients, and dietary requirements. Ensure all kitchen staff are appropriately trained in all aspects of meal preparation, presentation, food storage and general hygiene. Resolve any feedback or issues promptly and efficiently. Assist with the hiring of new kitchen staff as required. Ensure Rangoon Colonial Club Restaurant kitchen staff are appropriately trained in food safety standards and any other OHS requirements. Develop new recipes, design menus and cook menu items Qualifications, Experience and Skills requirements: Certificate IV or higher in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality/ Hotel Management or a related domain Previous professional experience as a chef is appreciated. Have experience in a similar high volume dining venue -preferably Indian hotels, or restaurants. Experience in Indian cuisine is essential Excellent knowledge of Indian Cuisine, especially North Indian curries is essential. A passion to constantly create new dishes. Prepared to work in a fast environment. Be Enthusiastic and Proactive, have a creative eye for detail and 'can do' attitude. Good communication skills Able to work on flexible hours (night shifts, weekends & weekdays) Your salary would be based on your experience and qualification.
