As Australia’s leading baby goods retailer, we’re looking for an exceptional Finance Manager to join our Finance team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this role will involve leading a finance team, ensuring compliance with statutory audit, tax, and legal requirements, and working closely with external auditors and tax agents. What You'll Be Doing: Oversee month-end and year-end financial close process Ensure accurate, timely delivery of month-end Board Packs and Management Packs Review balance sheets and financial reports to ensure accuracy and reliability before distribution to the business Manage compliance reporting for Australia and New Zealand including FBT, GST, Income Tax, Times Payment Reporting and Bank Covenants Reporting Lead the external audit process Act as the primary contact for financial matters, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving meaningful change in collaboration with stakeholders Manage and resolve technical accounting challenges, including the interpretation and application of accounting standards, preparation of position papers, and coordination with auditors Collaborate on ad hoc initiatives by contributing to task execution and ensuring thorough project documentation Lead and mentor a small team of finance professionals What We're Looking For: A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA) Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the retail industry Experience in a similar role, managing a small finance function Excellent understanding of accounting principles, regulatory requirements and tax regulations Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), leadership abilities and decision-making abilities A proactive approach to process improvement and financial strategy development What's In It For You: Opportunity to be a key member of the finance leadership team Partner closely with the CFO, Head of Finance, and Head of FP&A Exposure to senior decision-making and strategy across the business Scope to shape finance strategy and drive meaningful change Chance to lead, mentor, and develop a talented finance team A supportive and collaborative work environment where your expertise is valued Employee discount Please note; Every employer in Australia has the obligation to ensure that employees have the relevant working rights.
