Description About the role: Seymour College is seeking a passionate and dynamic Chinese (Mandarin) Teacher to join our Junior School team from the beginning of Term 4, 2025. This role is offered as up to 1.0 FTE with an opportunity to apply for an ongoing, permanent role for 2026. In this role, you will specialise in teaching Chinese to students in the early years of their educational journey, promoting a love of language and fostering intercultural understanding. The key responsibilities are to: Plan and deliver engaging Chinese language lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the College’s Learning Framework. Foster a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports the holistic development of each student. Implement varied assessment strategies to support student growth and learning outcomes. Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary and co-curricular opportunities. Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to support each student’s journey. Skills And Experiences About you: As the successful candidate, you will hold: A current South Australian Teacher Registration. Demonstrated experience and passion for teaching Chinese to primary-aged students. The ability to build strong, respectful relationships with students, parents, and staff. A commitment to the College’s values and the wellbeing of every child. Current WWCC, RRHAN-EC certification, and First Aid in an education setting. Experience teaching EAL/D is highly desirable.
