The PositionAn opportunity exists for a Specialist Infectious Diseases (ID) Physician to join the team as either a Staff Specialist or as Head of Department of Infectious Diseases. The role includes providing specialist ID care, inpatient and outpatient consultations, participation in critical care rounds, research, teaching, and leadership of the Antibiotic Stewardship Program. For suitably qualified candidates, there is the option to incorporate a Clinical Microbiology component.Health ServiceThis is a major regional referral health service with more than 330 beds, including a tertiary Intensive Care Unit. It provides a wide range of acute specialist medical and surgical services, with strong teaching and research links to a medical school and research foundation. The service places emphasis on clinical excellence, innovation, and collaboration to achieve better outcomes for patients and the broader community.The LocationThe role is based in one of Australia’s most liveable regional cities.
