We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or engineer early in their career who wants to gain hands-on experience with advanced electromechanical devices in a regulated medical technology environment. Primary Objectives Diagnose, repair, service, test, pack, and ship returned products. Travel to customer sites to deliver product-related services, installations, training, and complaint investigations. Provide expert technical support to internal teams and act as a back-up to the technical support hotline when required. Contribute to service process improvements, product innovation projects, and marketing/sales initiatives. Support Quality, R&D, and Forensics teams with investigations, documentation, and product performance monitoring. Key Responsibilities Receive, unpack, and decontaminate returned products. Perform root cause analysis, repairs, preventive maintenance, and in-field validation. Test, pack, and ship serviced products in line with customer requirements. Assist in verification, validation, and serviceability testing as required. Generate and maintain accurate service documentation compliant with ISO13485 and FDA QSR. Provide technical expertise to product development and marketing teams during field evaluations. Ensure compliance with all Quality Management System, OHS, and environmental procedures. Skills & Experience Experience with mechatronic, electromechanical, or electronic device servicing, investigation, repair, and testing. Strong customer service skills and ability to respond professionally to technical inquiries. High attention to detail with dexterous workmanship. Strong computer literacy (MS Office essential). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team. Australian driver’s licence and ability to travel (interstate and occasional overseas). Flexibility to work in a progressive and changing environment. Education / Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Electronics, Biomedical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related discipline).
