The Office of Parliamentary Counsel (OPC) is seeking a dynamic senior executive drafter with the ability to provide leadership while delivering highly complex drafting projects for the Government. To be competitive for this role you need to have a high degree of drafting expertise, a collaborative approach that focusses on building relationships both within and outside OPC, the ability to build capability within the drafting cohort, and the potential and willingness to progress to more senior management roles. As the First Assistant Parliamentary Counsel, you will: • assume overall responsibility for higher level legislative projects • build the capability of assistant drafters, both by training assistant drafters within your team, and building that capability beyond your own drafting team • support, mentor and build the capability of other senior drafters • build and harness relationships across the APS • strive for continual learning • contribute to the management and leadership of OPC, particularly in relation to drafting matters.
